Project Management

Project management is the most vigorous business aspect of Xplore’s Consultancy and Research wing. From the very beginning after its inauguration, Xplore Business Limited is involved in managing diversified types of development and corporate projects as grant partner, sub-contractor, co-facilitator, sub-facilitator. We have extensive experience to work with international development organizations like Democracy International Inc., Swisscontact and Katalyst ( a project of Swisscontact), multinational corporate clients like Novartis (Bangladesh) Limited, Indofil Chemicals (Bangladesh) Limited and a number of national development and corporate partners.

A pool of experienced project managers along with project management team and a pool of consultants who are faculties of different universities or specialists in different fields are employed (or contracted) in our direct pay role. We have expertise in project implementation strategy development and project report preparation as well.

A brief description of the projects managed by Xplore Business Limited are as follows:

 

Project: Partnership Grant for Improving Distribution and/Production of   Compost Fertilizer with Swisscontact (Katalyst)

Xplore Business Limited was awarded a Partnership Grant for Improving Distribution and/Production of   Compost Fertilizer from Katalyst. This was two years project. The main objective of this project is to establish a production and distribution network for quality compost fertilizer all over the country.

Xplore developed a common platform between Xplore and Small Compost Producers (SCP) which is named the “tie up model”. The partners of the consortium are responsible for compost production and Xplore Business Limited is working as the trading partner of the consortium. As trading partner Xplore is marketing & selling across the country under unique brand name “Biotech Compost”.

The fund of the grant was used for promotion of compost fertilizer and skill development of retailers’ (distribution channel) and field force (Marketing Officers). We performed 602 Farm Family Meetings, 121 Focus Group Discussions, 151 Demo Plots, 128 Field Days, 47 View Exchanges, 8 Retailers’ Training and 4 Field Force Development training. Through our activities of this project, we informed 35,338 farmers about ‘Biotech’ compost. We trained 506 retailers who are the service providers at rural levels. We also trained our field team (marketing and sales officers) who goes to farmers’ door with solutions. Currently, we have 500+ retailers (out of 1022 retailers) who sell our compost fertilizer. Now there are more than 13,000 direct buyers (farmers) of this product. During this project period, we covered 72 Upazila of 19 districts in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Khulna and Mymensingh divisions and sold 544,080 kg compost to the farmers of our working areas.

 

Project: Assessment for design and installation of an effective distribution model for agriculture inputs++for the chars of selected northern districts with Swisscontact

Xplore Business limited has completed a feasibility research project in 25 randomly selected chars of Rangpur, Kurigram, Lalmonirhat and Nilphamari districts. In this project, we interviewed of 177 char retailers,  dealers, char farmers, transport facilitators and 4 companies (agro-input manufacture, consumer product manufacture, and telecom company) through a qualitative and quantitative questionnaire.

 

Project:  Statistically Based Observation in 4thUpazila Election 3rd phase with Democracy International

 Xplore Business Limited implemented a project named ‘Statistically Based Observation in 4thUpazilla Election’ with the affiliation of Democracy International, USA based governance and democracy research organization. This project was jointly funded by USAID and UKAIDXplore Business Limited successfully implemented the operation of election observation with Democracy international in 235 polling stations of Rajshahi Division of Bangladesh. In this project, Xplore recruited, trained and deployed 259 election observers in 8 Upazila of Rajshahi Division.

 

Project:  Statistically Based Observation in 10th National Parliamentary Election with Democracy International

 Xplore Business Limited completed a project named ‘Statistically Based Observation in 10th National Parliamentary Election’ with the affiliation of Democracy International, USA based governance and democracy research organization. This project was jointly funded by USAID and UKAID. Democracy international had a plan to observe the 10th national election in 13500 polling stations of 300 constituencies of Bangladesh. Xplore Business Limited provided support to Democracy International in recruitment, training and deployment of 2920 election observers in 72 constituencies of 16 district of Rajshahi and Rangpur Division.

Xplore Business Limited successfully completed the total recruitment andToT sessions for trainers & District Coordinators and training for 144 Constituency Coordinators in of Rajshahi and Rangpur Division.

 

Project:  Statistically Based Observation in Gazipur City Corporation Election 2013

Xplore Business Limited has also participated in a project named ‘Statistically Based Observation in Gazipur City Corporation Election 2013’ with the affiliation of Democracy International, USA based governance, and democracy research organization. This project was jointly funded by USAID and UKAID. This is a project on election observation. Nielsen Company (Bangladesh) Ltd. was core implementation partner of this project, Xplore participated in this programme as a co-implementer.

 

Project:  Statistically Based Observation in Borguna Bi-election 2013 with Democracy International

Xplore Business Limited participated in another project named ‘Statistically Based Observation in Borguna Bi-election 2013’ with the affiliation of Democracy International, USA based governance and democracy research organization. This project was jointly funded by USAID and UKAID. This is also a project on election observation.Innovative Research & Consultancy (IRC) Ltd. was the core implementation partner of this project, Xplore participated in this programme as a co-implementer.
